Moody, Alabama Speed Traps
Park Ave. near three way stop.
Local Moody and, sometimes, State Troopers sit at Fairview Baptist Church.
Exit 144A,B I 20 East
Alabama State Troopers sit on the overpass between Moody and Leeds shooting radar. If he clocks you he then radios the other state troopers hiding at the on ramp to east bound I-20. They normally only sit there on Saturday morning. They may do this during the week, but I have not seen them. Just remember to check your speed when you approach exit144A,B on I -20 east bound
Kerr Road
This is a two lane road in the country and the speed limit is only 35 miles per hour. It is very difficult to understand why the speed limit is so low in this area of cows and pastures. The officers hide on the side of the road and also will drive towards you and catch you everytime…
off I-20 on Kelly Creek Road
Kelly Creek Road as a money making business, every couple of weeks they set of the road and in wooded areas and just over hills where you can not seen them, even at night. The speed limit is only 35 and it is very hard to go at this speed with out causing a traffic jam. I have heard you can request a engineer study for roads to see why the speed limits are set so low for a road , if any one can tell me why in the sam hill the limit is so slow please let me know . I know of several people that keep getting ticket for going only 45/48 on this road. I am beginning to think we are being singled out and I have lived on this road for 30 years.
I-20 Near Moody
Moody police cars have been seen on the interstate before. May or may not be operating in the future. If ticketed, you might want to talk to an attorney about the following: Code of Alabama – Title 32: Motor Vehicles And Traffic – Section 32-5A-171. I am not an attorney and the decision is yours. My last comments were deleted without explanation and no e-mail contact to know why. I hope this is acceptable message to help the public.
