Palmer, Alaska Speed Traps
Trooper operating speed trap on both sides inbound and outbound in a dark colored unmarked late model Chrysler car.
Palmer PD officers sit and hide right in front of the white sign (you can’t see them as you approach) in the parking lot of Sami’s Pizza. They sit less than 100ft in front of a 25mph sign and nab you as you come off the Glenn going into Palmer.
Heading to Wasilla from Palmer the speed limit is 35. When you get to the end of the business district you have the feeling that you are out of town but the speed limit remains 45 until you get to the traffic light at Hemmer Road. The police like to sit in the pull off at the bottom of the dip in the road.
Trooper car sits on the overpass, usually the south side, trapping autos going North to Wasilla & Palmer on the Glenn Hwy.
THEY PARK JUST IN TOWN ON THE OLD GLENN AS YOU TURN LEFT OFF THE GLENN HWY. THEY PARK AT THE CHURCH, AND AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE CAMPGROUND JUST PAST THE CEMETERY.
