John Laurie Boulevard near Brisebois Drive

Calgary, AlbertaOct 05, 20070 Comments

The male officer, who is not a traffic officer, usually is on foot behind a light pole monitoring eastbound traffic. Also, I have seen the same officer across the street (in the entrace to Nose Hill Park) setting up a laser operation to catch westbound motorists. Be Careful…I see this officer out there on a regular basis! Note: the new laser that he is using does not need a cord or a silver tripod.

4th Street near McKnight Trail

South bound 4th Street NW, just South of John Laurie Boulevard. CPS likes to set up a photo radar in a Chysler minivan on the West side of 4th Street NW. It usually parked amongst the cars on the side of the street. The speed limit is 50 km/h and you are traveling downhill picking up speed.

NW 16th Avenue near Stoney Trail

Calgary, AlbertaSep 12, 20070 Comments

Usually a van is hidden behind one of the pillars of EB 16th Ave just East of Stoney Trail intersection. Maximum speed is 70 km/h and this is a construction zone. Vehicle is hidden on left shoulder behind a new overpass pillar.

Edgemont Blvd southbound at Edgehill drive

Calgary, AlbertaAug 20, 20070 Comments

Seems to be a favourite fishing hole at the end of the month. The traffic routinely travels in excess of 60km/h when the posted limit is 50km/h. The trick here is that they get you at the bottom of the hill when you have managed to quite easily pick up speed – you pretty much have to ride your brakes in order not to speed.

19 Street near 32 Avenue

Calgary, AlbertaAug 09, 20070 Comments

One unmarked vehicle with radar always on the east side of 19th Street N.E. between 32nd Ave & McKnight. Posted limit is 50 but the sign is only on the west side of 19th Street by the Port o’Call so that is how they get you. If you keep your eyes open, you should be able to see the trap. Keep it under 60 and you should be okay.
