Travelling from Cranston or Deerfoot offramp towards Auburn Bay / new hospital construction. Speed is 50k and the blvd is very wide so subjective speed is slower. Trap sits on the far right among the parked vehicles there.

16th Ave NE westbound coming up hill from Deerfoot Trail

Calgary, AlbertaSep 23, 20100 Comments

The police frequently set up a tripod with laser catching vehicles coming up the hill on 16th Avenue heading west from the Deerfoot Trail intersection. They set up at a turnoff to a trailer park a short way before the Moncton Rd (north)/Russet Rd(south) intersection. The speed limit is only 60 km/hr going up hill and it is very easy to get going faster than that as one is climbing up the hill. They are positioned in such a position that they are not seen until drivers have completed climbing the hill and are often traveling faster than that.

Deerfoot Trail and 64 Avenue exit

Speed limit on Deerfoot Trail is 100 Kph. Police photo-radar car is often packed along the 64 Avenue exit behind road sign display. Popular hour is night time before 1.00 a.m. Difficult to the the grey van at night before it is too late. Good luck drivers.

14th Street NW after 64 Ave but just before John Laurie Blvd

Calgary, AlbertaJun 29, 20100 Comments

On 14 Street NW speed limit is 70 kmph but after 64 Ave just before John Laurie, Speed Limit becomes 50 kmph. Road is sloping down and speed instead of reducing , automatically increases. And there is a guy standing with a speed Camera. And mostl of the people get 3 Demarit points (with a huge fine) because they are driving higher by 20 kmph than the posted speed. Be carefull.

Deerfoot tr Southbound..near 22x

Calgary, AlbertaJun 05, 20101 Comments

They shoot from the top of the overpass. You don’t even see them until it’s too late, and they have two cop cars, one on the exit to the right and one in front. There is no escaping it. Any overpass seems fair game now. watch out.
