105th AVE heading toward McNally school

Edmonton, AlbertaDec 30, 20050 Comments

This is a pretty big cash cow, but I can see why. The kids think that it’s a racing strip and bullet down there on their way to school doing anywhere from 70 to 130km/h. It is a 50 km/h zone, and it is tagging people heading TOWARD the McNally High School. It is either one of the many vans used in the EPS’ fleet. Usually a late model Ford Windstar or Dodge Caravan, but keep your eye out, as the colours change. The photo van isn’t out as often as you think, but when you least expect it, you’ll get tagged doing 60 in a 50 and you won’t even know it, so be careful. They usually have the van out in the early morning (school commute), but I have personally seen it at 11:30AM/Noon. Keep a look out.

Yellowhead Trail near 79th Street

Edmonton, AlbertaJul 13, 20050 Comments

They always have it on the yellowhead WB in front of where Liquidation world used to be just at the end of the concrete barrier on the service road so it is sort of hidden until its too late. Also I have seen them use Chev Colorado pickups with a canopy in this location. BTW I have heard people say they are using dakota pickups which I havent seen but I have seen the colorado pickup with a canopy a few times.

118 Avenue near Wayne Gretzky Drive

Edmonton, AlbertaJun 22, 20051 Comments

The location is at the bottom and below a small underpass. The tracking vehicle sits on the right side. There is a fence separating traffic going in the opposite direction and a railing separating the multi lane street from pedestrians. It is an unnecessary money pit considering that gravity naturally prevents cars from leaving quickly out of the underpass.

James MacDonald Bridge eastbound

Edmonton, AlbertaJun 22, 20051 Comments

An officer with a radar or lidar gun is sometimes concealed on the pedestrian walkway at the west end of the bridge; the bulk of the trap is a couple of hundred metres further on at 101 St., in the open but past the foot of the bridge and therefore out of sight. Sneaky!
