Peoria, Arizona Speed Traps
Lake Pleasant Parkway near 95th Avenue
The City of Peoria recently opened up Lake Plesant Parkway between 95th Avenue and Lake Pleasant Road or 99th Avenue. Because of continuing workers and construction, lanes are restricted and the speed limits are dropped to 25 from 45 during the day. Watch out for the motorcycle officers as well as the unmarked police cars. They are really clamping down on people who are driving the speed limits.

Olive Avenue near 75th Avenue
Watch out for the motorcycle officers and unmarked cars on Olive Avenue from 67th Avenue to about 114th Avenue. The officers are using a lot of laser and moving radar in that area. It doesn’t look like they are stopping anyone going close to the 40 mile per hour speed limit, but I have seen them stop some of the ones zipping past me going over 55.

75th Avenue near Country Gables Drive
Between Thunderbird and Greenway. Going either north or south The Motorcycle cops can sit in the shade at Country Gables or a smaller street just north. Just about any time of day but mostly right at the end of rush hour. There’re usually 2-3 waiting. Also in the evenings.
83rd Avenue near Acoma Street
Officers sit on motorcycles in the shade, just barely visible when you get within 100 feet of them. Vehicles going Northbound are primary targets heading towards the Peoria Sports Complex/Arrowhead Towne Center Mall. This is a huge cash cow for Peoria which is turning into a speed trap town. Posted speed limit is 35 but most people drive 45-50 along this stretch since it is two lanes in each direction. On Friday nights look for the same motorcycles further North closer to the sports bars.
