Show Low, Arizona Speed Traps
Whipple Road between Deuce of Clubs and Central
The perfect double speed trap ~ two hills with a low spot between. The climbing side of the hills start out posted at 35 mph, but just before you top the hill the speed limit drops to 25 mph. But since you’re accelerating to get over the hills, you can hardly brake the 10 mph just before the crest. Sure enough! You top the hill and surprise! There’s a camera pointed at you. 38 mph in a sudden 25 mph zone = $195.
All of Show Low is a speed trap
There are multiple speed cameras not only on the main highways through town, but also on SIDE STREETS. Best advice is to constantly check the right side of the road for speed limit signs, then drop down to 5 MPH below the posted limit. Don’t push your luck by driving exactly at the posted limit.
mm339 on US 60 Show Low AZ
Speed limit was 65….there were no “Reduced speed ahead” No 55 mph sign….no 45 mph signs no warning that the speed was changing. I use my cruise control faithfully and watch the speed faithfully. It was a camera picture..it showed me driving and it showed my license tag. What does that prove??

Showlow police sit here often in a Dodge Charger, they are running a K-Band Radar most of the time, I have had a few Ka-Band hits. But no laser yet, my V1 snuffs these out all day long. If you have a cobra ehh, your SOL on Ka-band cause they are running 35.5.
