Gibsons, British Columbia Speed Traps
Reed Road
This stretch of Reed is about a kilometer long with a speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour and there are two spots at about midway that provide the cops with visible shelter. They primarily target east bound traffic which is composed mostly of locals going to catch a ferry or going to work. The cops can be found hiding here from 05:30 a.m. to mid afternoon when their shift ends. This is a rural road that should be posted at 60-70 kilometers per hour because its perfectly straight with no visibility issues.
At the bottom of the cut
R.C.M.P. will station themselves with thier Radar guns right at the bottom of the cut by the Ferry, catching all those who are rushing for the Vancouver Ferry
School Road
Just before the hill starts to crest, in the parking lot of the brick building the police park their car and set up their radar gun on a stand.
They tend to do this in the morning rush, so watch for it -tickets are much more expensive in school zones!
Reid Road
Reid is a quiet country/residential road that is a shortcut to Langdale ferry terminal. No sidewalks with lots of pedestrian and vehicle traffic makes this an obvious and needed trap area. Traps are usually set in the AM but have been seen randomly.
