Vancouver, British Columbia Speed Traps
Granville Street near Crossing – In Back Lanes
There are Radar traps all along this main drag which is to / from the Vancouver Airport Beware it is 50 Kilometers / hour which means 30 MPH.
Great Northern Way
Great Northern Way, coming down from Clark Drive, heading westbound (this is the same street that turns into 2nd ave then 4th ave). They are usually right at the bottom of the hill. Sometimes farther along.
Marine Drive Parkway near 41st Junction Avenue
Westbound on four lane section of SW Marine Drive about 1 km west of the 41st avenue junction the police sit in the median with radar monitoring west-bound traffic. The speed limit is 80 kph but traffic usually runs 90 to 100 on this fairly straight divided boulevard. It’s easy to cruise over the limit and get caught along here. I’ve only observed this speed trap in the afternoon.
Pacific Boulevard near GM Place Stadium
Motorcycle enforcement, very popular last summer (04) – already seeing it again this year.
Marine Drive near Elliott Street
This trap is a regular, east and west directions. I would like to point out that speeds on this street are too high, people are killed here regularly. It should be noted however that most (not all) of the speed related accidents happen at night not during the morning work drone, which is when it seems the only time the street is monitored.
