Interstate 80 near Placer Hills Road
I-80 westbound opens from 2 lanes to three at Applegate. CHP sit on Placer Hills Road overpass or on the gore point for the Placer Hills on-ramp with Lidar or use the airplane that orbits the area. There have been as many as 15 patrol units working the area at one time. "A target rich environment."
US Highway 80 near Russell Drive
Heading W on 80 Past the Foresthill Exit, officer will be stationed up on Russell Rd –
Dry Creek Road near Christian Valley Road
CHP uses radar to catch cars coming out of the 45 into the 35 MPH zone, or coming off of Lake Arthur Road, onto Dry Creek as you enter the Christian Valley area, heading north to North Auburn
State Route 49 near Palm Avenue
State Hwy. 49 Between Elm and Palm Aves. Auburn Police use the parking lots on either side of the roadway to hide. Speed limit changes midway between the two Aves. Early morning before dawn officer likes to sit in the muffler shop entry.
State Highway 49 near Nevada Street
Just south of Nevada street and just within the city limits of Auburn, there is a motorcycle cop that sits in front of the dealership on the southbound side of the highway. This enforcement is usually in the early morning hours. i.e. between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.
