Brea, California Speed Traps
Valencia at Carbon Canyon
Brea P.D. hide behind tree’s as you are coming South on Carbon Canyon. Speed Limit is 45MPH. Also will look for drivers making right turns onto Carbon Canyon South if you do not stay in the right lane and cross over the white line.
Imperial Hwy & S. Flower Ave.
Imperial Blvd westbound before Brea Blvd. by Laurel Elementary School (not in session due to summer) I saw him immediately on his motorcycle and radar and slammed on the brakes. Be careful in the mornings! Follow the posted speed limits in Brea and Fullerton always!
On the turn right after lambert 57 fwy

Rose Drive heading southeast just east of Valencia and Birch
Southeast Brea, California: Posted speed limit is 45mph just after turning onto Rose Drive and heading east, but there is a downhill run through open country to a SPEED TRAP with a speed warning display, camera, and 40mph speed limit all at the exact same location at the bottom of the hill on the right. It is an obvious “entrapment type” speed trap. No warning at all; no time to slow down to 40mph. Most cars are doing about 50mph when they hit the speed trap. The speed trap was evidently set-up somtime during the first week of May 2015. It was not there before that; just speed warning displays further south on Rose Avenue in Yorba Linda; not Brea.
South of Lambert on Associated Road
There is a Flashing Slow Down sign around the curve as you get close to the school Speed Limit 25 when children are present. At 6:30 in the morning the sign is flashing and as you get closer to the sign it Takes Your Picture. There is a picture sign about 5 feet in front of the sign. Speed limit is 35 but normal traffic goes about 40-45, there is not enough time to slow down when going 35 and smile your on camera.
