Las Virgenes Road overpass to the 101 SB

Calabasas, CaliforniaJan 01, 20120 Comments

You take the off-ramp to Las Virgenes road/Malibu Canyon, go over the freeway and down the other side Southbound and the cops are hiding in the shell station behind the sign. The 35mph sign is on the opposite side of the off-ramp and the off-ramp is a double lane, so if you are along side a truck in a small car you will never see it. I was caught there and won the case. Check the speed survey.

At the corner of Park Sorrento and Park Ora.

Police cars like to sit on Park Sorrento, facing Park Ora to watch for people who speed down Park Sorrento AND for people who do not come to a full stop at Park Sorrento and Park Ora. It’s a four way stop sign intersection.

There is a two block length of street in front of the Sagebrush Cantina and up to the signal near the Commons, that the speed is 25 mph. The rest of the road, before and after this section, is 35 mph!

CHP motorcycle officer waits in the parking lot at 23508 Calabasas Road(South Side of Calabasas Road).
Officer is posted there at least 3 days per week. Seems to only get motorists heading eastbound on Calabasas Road headed towards the 101 South Freeway.
