Carpinteria, California Speed Traps

This stretch of freeway is a notorius speed trap. I’ve received three tickets along this stretch of 101 over the years.

I noticed it’s common for chp units to position themselves out-of-view along the onramp for the n/b 101. The highway opens up to 3 lanes at this point and many increase their speed.
I’ve also seen units many times behind the shrubs at the next onramp, [Ricon Rd.]
