Coarsegold, California Speed Traps

CHP sits on side of road on Revis and tickets people who do not come to a complete stop. Also at the clubhouse road. Easy pickings for these guys.

Going towards Fresno, south of O’Neals/Road 200 turn-off, going down the hill, sitting on left side of road in a pull out area. Easy to pick up speed down hill. Usually there late morning.

Once you pass the light at Road 200 and are going down hill you might find a CHP at the bottom of the hill with his radar gun out the window backwards trying to catch drivers speeding to make the light at YLP.

Highway Patrol makes a circutious trip up and down Highway 41 (from 5 miles south of Coursegold and as far north as the town of Oakhurst). The speed limit sign changes to ‘maximum’ speed limit of 55 mph, 1/2 south of the Chukchanci Casino. Most people miss it, especially on their hurried way to get to Yosemite National Park. When pulled over, don’t offer any "excuses"…."warnings" are unheard term in that neck of the woods.
