RailRoad Canyon Road near Canyon Hills Fire Station

Lake Elsinore, CaliforniaMar 28, 20060 Comments

Usually there on a monday morning early hours but can some time vary. It’s usually a bike CHP but sometimes a local cop. At the botton of the road past the fire station where it merges from three lanes to two is where the driveway is that he sits in.

Railroad Canyon Road

Railroad Canyon Rd. east of interstate 15. about 1 mile east on Railroad canyon the road opens up to three lanes in each direction on a long straight hill. Down the center here is a median/island with 2 left turn lanes for U-turns. There are no side streets here so they are for turning around only. Late night and early mornings Elsinore police sit in the left turn lanes on the median/island with their lights off at the bottom of the hill. There are street lights on the median/island all the way down Railroad canyon but these left/U-turn lanes are not lit. Coming down it’s easy to coast faster than the posted (50mph) speed limit.Going up they catch you as you exit a curve while trying to build some momentum for the hill. Radar is used here and if the officer has your license in hand you are getting a ticket. I’ve been hit late night 12:40 and have seen at times up to three black and whites working the bottom of the hill at 4:30 in the morning.
