Various between Middletown and Lower Lake

Middletown, CaliforniaMar 03, 20140 Comments

They prey on commuters at rush hour. There is only one passing lane from Middletown to Lower Lake, about 20 miles and a lot of slow drivers (under the speed limit of usually 10mph or more) of a demographic population who never pull over. The CHP catch desperate commuters trying to get home before midnight in legal but short passing areas. OR to work.

Hwy 29

sheriff or chp sit at the stop sign, if waiting for traffic, you can’t see him because you are coming out of the town, the speed limit changes to 45mph, but usually they hit the gas and are going faster. they are over 55 by the time they pass him. as far as the western mine road goes. I can see them sitting right in front of my house, they swoop down shady grove road and pick them off one by one, as they have just come off of St. Helena Mt., by the time they go past me, they are definately speeding. They hide, and that is not right. They pick them up on radar through the hill. Going south they hide in the trees in the shade, you can’t see them as you approach the curve in the road just before Western Mine Road..

State Highway 29 near Western Mine Road

CHP regularly waits at the bottom of Mt. St. Helena on the Lake Co. side near Western Mine Rd. Posted at 55, enforced from 55 and up. Watch the right side of the highway in the trees. Hard to see them.
