Santa Clarita, California Speed Traps
Westbound Soledad Canyon at Saugus Speedway
Radar holding motor officer(s) sit next to the East Fork Trail just where the
speed limit drops to 45 MPH. Warning: The average real speed in that stretch is 55 to 60. If you are even going with traffic they will write you up! Got pulled over there and asked him why he picked me and not the truck that passed me and the cop said, "Well I guess today is your lucky day".
Sierra Hwy south of San Fernando Rd (Newhall Ave)
Northbound: Sheriffs hide out at the entrance to the old oil refinery. Speed limit is 50 with a rather steep decline so its hard to stay at 50
Golden Valley Road
When driving on Golden Valley Rd, just Past Sierra Hwy, be careful on the downhill curve. Speed limit 50 mph.
Soledad Canyon Road near Valencia Boulevard
Cop either sits on bike path to watch cars coming or cop parks in the left hand turn lane in the middle of Soledad. They like to get the 50+ going into the 45 zone.
Magic Mountain Parkway near McBean Avenue
Making a left off the 5 North onto Magic Mountain Parkway about a mile or so down. Usually the cop hides on the right. Coming off the freeway so driving 60mph feels like nothing but it’s a sure ticket here.
