New London, Connecticut Speed Traps
Right before goldstar bridge SB
Statey sits in emergency vehicle turnaround and can be either facing NB or SB can be seen a ways away but usually too late speed limit is 55 on the interstate at that point
New London Area–marked 55 mph
I saw a trooper today aiming laser at the NB lanes on the New London side of the Gold Star Bridge. The area is marked as a 55 zone. He let a car with jersey plates pass him at 70-75 without pulling him over. He was definitely operating the laser.
Interstate I- 95 south at exit 84 near State Highway State Rd. 12 meets exit ramp off I-95
as cars exit south off I-95 to downtown New London, the ramp merges with state road 12 – at crest of hill, the speed limit drops to 35 mph – and a New London City police cruiser is waiting at the top of the hill to give you a ticket. You can’t slow down that quickly, coming off the highway.
Interstate 95 near Exit Number 87
The cops like to park on either side of the bridge heading across the Thames river between Groton and New London. However, it seems like no one is ever pulled over (probably because it is so obvious). Funny thing is that this seems to be the only speed trap between New London and the Rhode Island border
I-95
Connecticut has a huge state deficit. They are using state troopers ticket revenue to fill that deficit. Common occurance is 7 troopers pulling over
7 cars at once using Laser.
