New Milford, Connecticut Speed Traps

The officer will sit in the parking lot of the now closed Merryall Market, just north of the Bucks Rock Rd intersection if traveling notthbound, or just south of Clearview Dr if traveling southbound. They will stand in the road and wave you into the lot about 50 yards before you even see a police car or anyone using a radar. Then they will tell you the speed limit is 30mph when it is fact 35mph according to the signs posted in both traveling directions. It doesn’t reduce to 30mph until you travel further south and Merryall turns into Wellsville Rd.

Usually one radar unit will park in lot on the east side of route 7 on weekend evenings, often late at night. This is on the straight and flat stretch of route 7 between Boardman Bridge and Rocky River Motel.

In the bus station parking lot, or directly accross the road from it.

NMPD is vigilante on Candlewood Lake rd. North from Jerusalem Rd. heading north, past the NM town park for approx 2 miles at various locations on this stretch. Activity is heavy during rush hours and during the day!

New Milford police will sit on both sides of the roadway near the brookfield town line.
