Tolland, Connecticut Speed Traps

An officer sits on top of the overpass and watches traffic both ways. I’ve witnessed it coming from 74 turning on I-84 West.

Johnny Law likes to pick off unsuspecting motorists as they descend the hill prior to I-84 East Exit 68. Sometimes, they are openly visible as one approaches the exit ramp. Other times, they are somewhat hidden behind the 84/Rte. 195 bridge and use the laser at very close range. I often see UConn students that are in a hurry heading for this exit. I have seen them on the westbound side too in the early morning.

Johnny Law has been patrolling the entire length of Old Stafford Road rather agressively due to the high frequency of collisions. The enforcement must be working because traffic crawls along right at the speed limit (30).

They are using K-band radar.

Policeman parks in a driveway on the right side (if traveling North) of Rt 31 at the Guering Road intersection. It is a long driveway and the officer parks just behind a cluster of trees. This is at the bottom of a hill if traveling north and the speed limit is too restrictive.

OK Sports fans here is a classic CSP speed trap. As you travel I 84 West from the Mass Pike thru Tolland the CSP have a great little speed trap. They sit under the over pass in he Left lane just as you go down a hill. I dont remember the exit number but its right near a huge Garage / gas station with red lettering on it. I think its Thralls Garage but I cant be sure
