Bradenton, Florida Speed Traps
Interstate 75 near Interstate 75
BE CAREFUL OF SMALL CESSNAS HOVERING AROUND I-75 just south of ST. pete and north of Sarasota. This area is Bradenton in manatee county. There is a marker the cop in the plane sees you pass and times you till you reach another marker. (I heard they use big, white markers at the side of the road but I missed them)
SR64 eastbound, mile or so east of US301 (1st Street)
Most common time I’ve seen is SUNDAY mornings around 8am. Conducted on foot, concealed mostly behind a building on the right, one with hand-held, one waving motorists to the adjoining vacant lot.
Southern end of Green bridge (Business 41) – southbound
Typically on Saturday mornings. Police on foot wait at the rear of the South Florida museum, partially concealed by a sign, catching those who don’t drop their speed from 45 to 35 after coming off the bridge.
I-75 Between University & Manatee Ave.
FHP sits under the bridge. Sometimes on the bridge.
entering downtown from east, near RR tracks and in town
Tracks usually 10-15 BPD cars in AM with traffic ahead of you obscuring the man with the hand-held, cars around corner. Rest of day PD station and courthouse always have cars out front you never know are occupied or not. Don’t chance it.
