Celebration, Florida Speed Traps
World Drive, between Celebration/I-4 and 192.
The speed limit is 30 on the section that goes over I-4. It is a 2-3 lane road and feels like it would drive much faster. Officer Hobby sad,"It’s like shooting fish in a barrell."
Waterside Drive
Waterside Drive’s speed limit was reduced to 25 MPH & quite often there are cops there w/ radar guns. All over Celebration, by the way.
ramp from 417 to I-4
After going thru the last toll booth on the 417 Greeneway, there is a long (almost 2 mile) ramp to I-4. The 417 speed limit is 65, I-4 is 70; this ramp is 50 right after the toll, and 55 until you reach I-4. FHP parks near the I-4 end of the ramp and they use helicopters or planes to clock you on the ramp; relaying the info to the waiting patrol cars.
Celebration Place Road near Celebration Self Storage
Officer/s will sit in the parking lot of Celebration Self Storage and ticket people heading into town from the Celebration office buildings/192/Watertower area. They are hard to see because the parking lot is hidden by trees and a large cement wall.
Celebration Boulevard near Park Drive
There will be an officer standing in the parking lot of the Sienna apartments on Park Drive outside of his marked car or motorcycle, which will be parked nearby. They usually get your speed as you come around the corner, and stand in the middle of the road and flag you into the parking lot to ticket you.
