County & State sit in the parking lot, hid by a trolley or back up to rear fence lines and sit and wait. It’s a 7 day a week hot spot. There’s no clear line of sight at night time at all 🙂 Beware..

SR 54 between Publix and Veterans Express way ramp

Lutz, FloridaNov 16, 20120 Comments

This is during daytime and noticed that State police and County Sheriff have been more frequent in this area during daytime, especially the later part of year 2012. They use Ka radar, but no idea if they uses Laser, since my other toy has not picked up any so far, but the type of traffic is more suitable for Ka than Laser. This span of SR 54 ranges from 50mph to 60mph with one stoplight at Ballantrae Blvd. Be watchful if you pass this area during the day.

SR 54 between HWY 41 and Collier Parkway

State and County Sheriff, they sit closer to Hwy 41. I usually pass this route of SR 54 westbound daily around midnight and always get popped by radar K and Ka, not sure if they even use Lidar, my laser detector has never picked up any so far. It’s a 50mph zone and the usually in the dark median all lights off or sometimes uses red interior lights but all parking lights are off. I always have my car mounted camera on to capture the action. I’ve been ambushed several times but I always keep 45mph in this zone, because I know where they are, and I have never their customer. It’s a late night active zone.

Police sit in parking lot southbound just after 275 overpass. Sometimes they’re in lot across the street near animal feed store. Sometimes they let you go with a warning if you own up.
