127 Avenue near 88 Street

Miami, FloridaDec 31, 20030 Comments

Coming from 72 st to 88 st the road curves and right around the middle of the curve there is a police unit complete dark facing the oposite way as if it were to make a left turn. Its very easy to speed up when taking the curve because the road is wide and calls for speed. But by the time you see him he’s already making the u-turn to stop you.

State Highway 874 near Killian Parkway

Miami, FloridaDec 02, 20030 Comments

On SR 874, south of Kendall Drive (SW 88 Street), near Killian Parkway, there are white solid lines accross the pavement used by Florida Highway Patrol planes to clock drivers. There is one line, then another, and yet another one, both north and southbound. The pilot clocks the drivers and the ground troopers stop them and write the tickets. The speed limit is 60 mph, but the prevailing safe speed of traffic is 75 – 80 mph. They ususally don’t bother those driving below 70 mph.

Ludlam road (sw 67 ave) at 11th st

Miami, FloridaOct 22, 20030 Comments

City of West Miami: they park in the lot of West Miami Discount tool, hidden behind the brick bellsouth building on the east side of sw 67 ave at aprox sw 11 st. times range from about 6pm on to midnight or later. all of 67th ave between coral way (sw 24 st) and tamiami trail (sw 8th st) is susceptable to their speed traps, but the aforementioned one is bad (they got me the other day). POSTED LIMIT is 35 mph for a 2 lane per direction road with center shared turn lane. VERY UNREALISTIC for the volume of traffic, 50 is the common speed.
