Naples, Florida Speed Traps
Vanderbilt Bch Road & Us-41 (Tamiami Trl) – The Mercato
Almost always at night, in and around the Mercato, deputies are patrolling Tamiami Trail (41) and the plaza itself. They will pace cars in addition to parked cruisers with radar.
Golden Gate Blvd and Wilson
all of Golden Gate Blvd is a mere 40 mph, except it slows down to 35 for the few blocks surrounding Wilson Blvd. Highly paroled.
Golden Gate Parkway overpass, driving East
The police wait at the crest of the overpass, to catch drivers going East to I 75.
I-75 Northbound Under Overpass at Mile Marker 90
At approx mile marker 90, just under the overpass, off on the right side. FHP will sit with a radar gun and clock north bound cars. I have seen 4 FHP cars writing tickets just beyond the overpass on multiple occasions.
9th St & 3rd Ave S
Heading southbound on US 41 officers sit in the parking lot of Lindburgers Hamburgers behind the bushes and then appear pointing the radar gun at you. They flag you down into the Lindburgers parking lot where they write the citation. This is an area where the speed limit is quickly reduced from 40 mph to 30 mph and not well marked. This is usually between the hours of 6:00 am and 8:00 am. Downtown Naples.
