Oviedo, Florida Speed Traps
Sr. 417 from the Red Bug exit all the way to Orlando.
Their is an air patrol mostly done by a cessna but sometimes by a
helicopter. They clock you from the air and radio your vehicle info to state troopers who will pull you over sometimes miles down the road from the infraction. As far as I can tell the aircraft orbit week days from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
417 Between Red Bug Lake Road and Aloma
Both Northbound and Southbound. 4-5 state troopers sit in this two mile stretch. I have seen as many as 3 people pulled over at a time, with two more troopers waiting.
419 and Louise street (near Jackson Hts Middle School)
Heading towards downtown Oviedo from Chuluota on 419 (just after the speed limit drops from 45 to 30), the cops park on Louise and stand on the corner with their radar guns. If you’re speeding, they point at you and tell you to turn in so they can write you a ticket. they don’t even have to get in their car.
Mitchell Hammock Boulevard
They sit in the median at night with their lights off. Do not drive fast through here.
Pine Avenue
They usually sit between the school and the trail stop sign. They are nailing the High School students.
