Airport Road near Old Sydney Road

Going east on Airport Road after the National Guard Armory and the airport, right before the road dips – usually motorcyle cops with occasional automobile will sit on the rigt hand side of the road with radar – if you’re not paying attention they will catch you speeding and ticket you. Usually they’re there around lunch time and early afternoon when school gets out to catch kids speeding.

They usually sit in the empty lot on the right just before the post office. Around Franklin St the speed limit drops from 35 to 30. I’ve seen them there all times of day, but I usually see them in the morning when I’m heading into work.

Coming around the big curve on Alexander. The speed limit is 40mph and they mean it! Police sit in the parking lot on the south side of the road by the water tower and in the grass on the inside of the curve.

State Route 60 near James L. Redman Parkway

Plant City, FloridaAug 14, 20071 Comments

On Highway 60 on the south side of Plant City, just east of Redman Parkway, and west of the weight station (almost right after it), they sit on the north side of the road in packs of 2 and 3 and make obscene amounts of money from the fines they give out. The road drops from 65 to 50 in a blink of an eye. That’s an automatic over-15-mile-an-hour ticket in excess of $210 (and 50 cent). Got my first ticket there, and successfully fought it because the 50 mile an hour speed limit sign is less than 1 mile from where they are measuring your speed. If you get a ticket here Fight It (at least until they move the 50 mph sign farther out).
