Wellington, Florida Speed Traps
Forest Hill Boulevard
on most weekend nights, the DUI unit of the wellington sheriffs office sets up a speed trap on forest hill between south shore and wellington trace. there are many places for them to hide without being detected at all untill its too late.
US Highway 441 near In front of Wellington Green Mall
Due to the amount of people running the traffic lights, the increased amount of accidents, and the amount of people speeding through this area, PBSO has about 4-6 motorcycle units running radar in front of the southeast entrances to the mall on US 441/SR 7. They monitor both northbound and southbound traffic, and it is done usually only during the AM rush hour.
Pierson Road near Polo Area
The entire stretch of Pierson Road between Fairlane Farms Rd. and Southshore has always been a target of unsuspecting motorists for the PB Sheriff Dept. A petition was circulated in 1991 to raise the speed limit from 35 mph to a more reasonable 45 mph. However, the limit was lowered to a ridiculous 30mph in the mid 1990’s, making the road a major citation hot spot in the village. Revenue generated is rumored to justify the existence of the Wellington PBSO substation.
Lake Worth Rd & 120th ave
PAtrol Car lying in wait with trunk up so you can’t see roof mounted lights or cycle cop in middle of Road. Abnormally low limit set to appease equestrian traffic but obstructs normal flow. Definitly needs to be appealed to state courts and DOT.
