Hwy. 82 and Majestic Oaks

Brunswick, GeorgiaJan 21, 20110 Comments

Time to time, a county cop in the black crown vic will sit at the entrance of Majestic Oaks while the prosute vehicles are sitting at Gary Lee BBQ to write you a ticket. The officer is checking speeds going west bound or towards Brantley. Be aware…the speed limit is 45mph where the cop is clocking you and he is sitting around from a blind corner.

Highway 341…Taco Bell-Winn Dixie

Brunswick, GeorgiaMar 05, 20101 Comments

There are always several police cars from local to state to Highway patrol on this stretch of 341… they will pull you over for any infraction. Watch for seat belts, lights and speeding. They overstock every few weeks or so and they look for everything.

US Highway 17 Northbound near Lanier Ship Channel Bridge

Brunswick, GeorgiaAug 06, 20070 Comments

Northbound on US 17 just past the Jekyll Causeway over the Lanier Ship Channel Bridge. Speed Limit is 50 and traffic, much of it just off Interstate 95 has a broad, wide open stretch of 4 lane road. Get to the top of the bridge and there is a tendency to maintain highway speed or increase speed going down the bridge (the only "hill" within many miles). Welcome to the Golden Isles as the Brunswick Police Department and the GHP frequently sit at the base of the bridge or just up the road behind bushes with radar. Not sure of the grace speed but they are often very busy. Make sure your insurance and registration cards are handy too.
