Cobb, Georgia Speed Traps

While Pitner Elementary school is in session mornings yellow lights flashing, 25 speed limit, they will sit in the turning lane just west of the Parkwood Commons light past the school catching speeders, two or three at a time. School release time in pm, also. Other times they sit any where along Wade Green Road all the way to Hwy 92, with radar guns morning, noon, and night. Cops call it a Gold Mine……

Heading north on Sandy Plains toward Highway 92 you will pass Highland Point subdivision on the left and start heading down a steep hill ,Cobb police sit at the bottom of the hill in a neigborhood entrance. It is a 4 lane road and many times the traffic is so light the cops will walk out into the road and stop you as they did with me. There are normally as many as 2-4 cops pulling people over here. The limit is 45mph but people normally do at least 55-60 sometimes faster, the road is well maintained and straight mostly, with gentle curves.

Burnt Hickory Road meanders from Acworth Due West Rd. Mostly mid day and rush hour radar police sit at Hadaway Rd at Hadaway Gardens Sub , and outside of the Burnt Hickory Lakes sub on the Burnt Hickory entryway. Both areas are hilly and guess where they are hiding!

Cobb PD sit on Barrett LAkes Blvd and monitor the speed of traffic traveling south on a curve right after the Wendy’s.
