Demorest, Georgia Speed Traps
This is a short quarter mile stretch of road north of the traffic light on Hwy. 365 and is heavily targeted by Demorest PD.
School zone still in effect an hour and a half after the students have left (4:30). Tiny sign stating the times. All other school zones in Habersham County are off between 3:45 and 4:00). Police sit in the empty school parking lot at the bottom of a hill and target drivers between 4 and 4:30 who are coasting to the stoplight.
Two-mile stretch of Highway 441 between Piedmont College and the traffic light at Walmart changes SIX times – varies from 25 mph to 45 mph – watch the speed limit signs carefully otherwise they’ll get you. They’re usually sitting in the Metalworks parking lot after dark waiting for you to come by!

Does anyone else find it suspicious that Demorest now has city limit signs and speed checked by detection devices signs on the Habersham Bypass? I KNOW they did not used to be there, and it smells like a speedtrap to me.
