Gainesville, Georgia Speed Traps
US Highway Hwy 53 Gainesville, GA.
all roads leaing out of Gainesville,GA are labeled 45 mph.
I belive this is unrealistic. Especially on Hwy 53 from the straight away from the Claridon Apts to the Lake Lanier Bridge. The safe speed is 65 MPH, which most drives do. I live out this on this 53. I travel to Gainesville about twice each day. Each time of day I most see a Gainesville
police car they have a driver pulled over.
Bradford Street near Train Station
Officer is hiding behind the train station waiting for cars crossing over the traintracks and beyond. It is not a busy intersection so many drivers use the stop sign as Yield and do not come to a complete stop.
Green Street near State Highway 129
Gainesville city police have a speed trap on Green St. (Hwy 129) near the US Post Office and Brenau College. This is 25 or 30 mph speed zone – the officer that ticketed me let me know that he was only pulling people over that were going faster than 45 mph.
Thompson Bridge Road near Bridge
Police hide on a private driveway just past the country club on the way into Gainesville in the morning and just before Nancy Creek on the way home.
