GA 400 – From Toll Booth to Northridge (Sundays)

Sandy Springs, GeorgiaMay 14, 20100 Comments

I drive my daughter to her mom’s every Sunday morning. Almost every time there are 2 to 3 polices cars either on the North or Southbound lanes. They sit either at the split where 400 hits 285 or on the right side past Abernathy (northbound). I even saw on sitting on the bridge to the Marta station shooting his radar gun on the northbound traffic.

Old Arby’s building. The cops sit in there early morning and after dark shooting radar. If going north bound you are going down hill, very easy to pick up speed. Speed limit is 35 they ticket you for 40. Its so sad that Sandy Springs have decided to rob they citizens for revenue. The doors on the car should read "To Serve and Collect" instead of "To Serve and Protect"

400 South Bound Near the Toll Road (Sundays)

There is usually an officer on the right hand side of the road when you’re headed southbound just as you approach the toll road. Be careful the speed limit drops to 45 as you approach the toll road and most people don’t realize it until its too late. If you’re in the far left hand land you won’t see the officer until he’s already clocked you.

Going East bound on i285 (from 75 to 400). Those who travel during the evenings will know this one. The police hit you with lidar as you come down the steep grade towards the Roswell Rd NE exit. The police car will be sitting inbetween the onramp and 285 tagging people. This trap is there every evening.

Sandy Springs PD usually has a black cruiser parked at the off-ramp to Roswell Road. I see this at about 4:45 in the morning during the week. However, I’ve seen a Kennesaw unit speed thru there on numerous occasions, and no one else seems to see anything. Oh well.
