Rte 29 through entire town. Sudden speed limit changes from 40 to 35 back to 40 over hilly roads. Well known for over aggressive enforcement.

According to the officer that stopped me, some long time residents are ‘set up’ with equipment in their homes to help clock speeds. Must be true because he pulled me over heading Towards me , and there had been no one parked along the way. He knew my exact speed…..

Fischer Road near State Route IL 29

Creve Couer police sit in a private drive hidden by trees off of Fischer Road nearest to Illinois St. about 2 miles East of IL Route 29. The road is very hilly and it is very easy for your vehicle to accelerate to over 40 simply by taking your foot off the pedal and not braking. The speed limit is 30 mph despite it being a more rural than residential road. Officers will first clock you as you pass them and then pace you as you are going over the multiple hills. If you are not riding your breaks you are sure to be pulled over. I see an average of one each day and always see them at different times of the day.

Beware coming from East Peoria towards Creve Coeur. As you come up the hill first turn is usually a deputy hidden in the weeds. As you approach the Welcome to Creve Coeur sign the deputy pops up with radar in hand pointing right at you. Then the other 2 deputys on top of the hill pull you over.

State Highway 29 near Interstate 474

About four or five squad cars line up here usually on thurs or friday evenings. They sit directly behind the overpass and you cannot see them. They use lidar, so once they get you, they get you. Speed limit is 45 mph, but I know they stop cars doing 60 – 70 mph through that area all the time
