Crystal Lake, Illinois Speed Traps

They sit on the N/E corner of 176 and Walkup in the lawyers office parking lot which has lots of shrubs to hide their presence. One cop clocks while the other cops sit just north in the Crystal Lake Park parking lot waiting to pull you over. Sometime 3-5 police at once.

The cops sit right at the intersection of pleasant hill and terra cotta. Right by the painted railroad bridge. They nab people who don’t stop at the stop sign.

Police commonly sit along the side of the NW bound lane of 14 (Virginia), parked parallel to the road, in front of the Taco Bell area and gun for those breaking the 30 mph limit in this stretch of highway. Unmarked cars are more commonly seen in this spot, but I have seen both.

There is often a cop sitting in his car doing radar at the top of the hill in the parking lot of the small industrial building, or at the bottom in the driveway of the fairground storage facility. The speed limits are really low for this road so many people get caught speeding without even knowing that they were speeding.Twice my dad has been pulled over here.

Virginia Rd. between Rt.31 & Rakow Rd. Have NO speed limit signs & Crystal Lake & Lake In The Hills both run radar on this road.
I have contacted both city’s & no one could give me a speed.
One said that he wouldn’t do over 50.
