Mount Prospect, Illinois Speed Traps

Near Fairview Elementary School as well as near the Pool. Cops hide in the Pool parking lot, you can’t see them because it’s on a hill. They also catch people right there crossing Northwest Highway from the underpass. People try to cross the highway to avoid traffic even though there are posted signs against doing that. During rush house people cut right down Gregory at 30+ mils per hour to get around trafic on Central, even though the speed limit on Gregory is as low as 20 in some places. Gregory Street is also right near Prospect High School. In general, Gregory Street is a really bad side street to speed on!

The trap is to catch cars or pedestrians on the RR tracks when the gates go down. They will ticket cars as well as pedestrians which require a court visit.

Wheeling Rd traveling south between Euclid and Kensington there are squads regularly posted especially near Dogwood. There is a school and it is residential so they enforce the speed limit and stop signs of which there are one in each direction right near Dogwood. Keep eyes open, they’re not just in the open, they hide on the side streets too. And I’m glad they do.

There is a no right turn onto Isabella from Rand Road from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm on weekdays. The Mt. Prospect Police hide down Isabella to catch people turning right off of Rand onto Isabella. I know several people who have been ticketed for this offense.

Elmhurst Rd-From Northwest Road to Golf Road . They are nuts here. They have guys hiding in the bushes with radar guns. What an embarrassment to law enforcement.
I almost got killed by a guy in an unmarked brown colored car pulling out driving the wrong way.
