Old Orchard Road near State Highway 41
Cop sits off EB lanes of Old Orchard just east of Skokie Boulevard (Rt. 41). Loves to nail EB and WB drivers racing through long unbroken stretch between Skokie Boulevard and Gross Point/Crawford intersections. Use caution.
Main Street near State Route 41
Skokie Police use black squad cars with low profile light arrays on top, and unmarked black sedans which are difficult to spot in your mirror. Radar detection equipment that is directional (such as Valentine One) is an essential tool. The Department uses "active, aggressive, patrol tactics" and EVERY police vehicle, marked or not, is expected to issue a broad array of citations.
Oakton Street near Crawford Street
Usually going east on Oakton Street a police cruiser is sometimes visible with a radar pointing west at traffic traveling in the east bound lanes of Oakton. Be careful. This is a residential area, so the speed limit is strictly enforced.
Golf Road near Lockwood Avenue
When driving East on Golf after passing Harms Road, where the speed limit drops from a 45MPH to 35MPH out of nowhere, there is usually a cop sitting on the side street of Lockwood waiting for someone to miss the change in speed limit. Be Careful!
Oakton Road near Public Library
Had a close call witha cop that was learning to use his LIDAR gun. he got a direct hit but I hit the brakes just in time. WATCH OT, LIDAR is in use in skokie
