South Holland, Illinois Speed Traps
Rte6 (162nd) & Woodlawn.Mobile on north/mt ford lot on south
Radar unit parked in the old Ford dealership parking lot on the southside facing east. Speed limit is 35. Many cars coming west over the overpass on Rt 6 just got off the expressway, so are over the limit coming down the hill.
Additionally cars exiting the expressway southbound to westbound Rt. 6 are not allowed to make a left (south) turn onto Woodlawn. Those doing so will be right in plain sight of one of South Holland’s finest. Warning: This is also a RedLight Camera intersection so don’t turn right on red or you will be ticketed.
South Park Boulevard near between 154th – 162nd Street
Driving between 154th and 162nd on South Park Blvd, the limit is 30mph. This is a fairly open road, and it is easy to get caught doing over 40mph. My husband was clocked at 45, pulled over and ticketed. Before/after 154th/162nd, the limit is 35, which is another reason it’s also easy to get caught going over the limit in this zone. Be very careful driving along this strip; there are always police officers with radars sitting off to the side on the cross streets.
