Stone Park, Illinois Speed Traps
US Highway 45 Manhiem Rd near US Highway 20 Lake Street
Going North on 45 bridge before Route 20 (Lake Street) is 35 MPH. As soon as you cross Lake St. it drops to 30 MPH. Police sit between here and Route 64 (North Avenue) constantly. They can be on the sides in parking lots or in Police Station Parking Lot (East side of Manheim Rd.) As soon as you cross Route 64 it goes back up to 35 MPH. Watch in Both Directions! Anything over 30 MPH is a risk!
Mannheim Road, from one end of town to the other-
The Stone Park Police Dept. are notorious for being ticket writers. Their town is a small (less than 15 blocks total) triangle shaped one, with a ‘major’ road running through it heading towards O’Hare Airport. They make a lot of money by stopping anyone who even LOOKS like they’re speeding. 2 of their favorite places to nail you are: Heading North, just past Lake St., after coming down the hill off the big bridge over the rail road switching station, and on the strip near the Police Station. The speed limit on this road, which is 2-3 lanes in each direction, is 35. This is a really busy stretch of road 24/7. They really LOVE to nail Limos and other Livery vehicles, because they know the passengers are in a hurry to get to the airport.
