Gas City, Indiana Speed Traps
Highway 22 (Main Street) between 5th and 6th streets
The speed limit changes from 25 to 35 just past 5th. The officer is supposedly "clocking" people before it gets to 35 mph and is pulling them over after the sign. The Officer puts on his tickets that the "Offense" happens in the 400 block not the 500 block to back up his story.
State RD 22 west of 37
They sit behind a poll building and radar both east and west after dark
State Highway 22/35 near State Highway 9
Eastbound / Westbound State Road 22/35. Speed limit drops from 55 to 45mph 1/2 to 1 mile prior to intersection with State Road 9. State Police PARTICULARLY fond of this area early Sunday mornings. Have seen cars stopped on SEVERAL occasions at this time.
Interstate 69 near Mile Marker 59
The sheriff hides under the overpass behind the water barriers looking for on-coming traffic traveling down the hill. Sometimes they are sitting in the grass median on the opposite side, but that area is open so it is used rarely.
State Highway US 35/Indiana 22 near Interstate 69
Interstate 69 to Upland to the East and Gas City to the West. Upland local "Barney" has found a ticket heaven with the developement of the I-69/US 35 interchange. Sits in businesses and on side roads. Blue Vic with Stealth light bar.
Our Indiana State Police have also found this area to be a bonanza for the greening of Indiana and use both black marked and in particular a green Camaro w/dark tinted windows. The driver of this car, as are all the unmarked drivers in Indiana. He is detested by not only motorists, but by local police departments as well. He LIES….so ask for proof of his radar reading.
I’ve spoken to four local cops and three Indiana State cops and not one had a good word to say about him. If you get written by him, take it to court.
