Officers like to sit north of 61st Avenue in the Elks Club parking lot. Speed limit is 30mph through here so be aware.

Marcella Blvd has Merrillville cops cruising north AND south especially around Menard’s Hardware catching speeders. They will even fabricate their charges upon issuing a ticket. Once in a while you see a Hobart cop cruising. Merrillville is one of the first to request a county income tax be passed by the Lake County Council, probably thanks to their former town clerk embezzling cash from the sale of bonds, $310K. Beware Lake County drivers! They get you with a tax AND a ticket!

Between 10th and the county park, at the red barn. The officer hides by tallest bushes, you don’t see him till he’s next to you.

This is a common spot where police will sit as they are hidden well by the old purdential building. Now known to hold many small offices.
