If you are heading in either direction on S.R. 9 (Western Ave.) and approach the intersection of 44th St their will usually be a Marion Police Officer sitting in his vehicle, usually its in a parking lot at a bingo parlor on the Eastside of the road. Clocking people along the state road. Beware this is where the speed drops along the 5 lane road (2 opposing travel lanes and a center turn lane) from 45 to 40 coming into town. Sometimes the officer likes to clock people already during over 45 in the 40 zone heading out of town (for you people who like to speed up right before the sign). The officers are ticket happy in that area, (although they are friendly and professional) so watch out.
