Sellersburg, Indiana Speed Traps
Perry’s Crossing Road
Perry’s Crossing has a speed limit of 30 mph. Both Sellersburg PD and Indiana State Troopers used to park in the lot of the church on that road. However, they have been recently driving up and down Perry’s Crossing to pull anyone and everyone over. Convenient for them, as they had closed the main road through Sellersburg, forcing people to take the back roads.
I-65 Between Mile Markers 2 & 9
This stretch of road is probably the most patrolled road (and most ticketed) in Indiana. It’s 55 between the bridge and Mile Marker 10, and the State Police watch this road very well. Be sure to wear your seat belt and drive the posted limit. They’re driving marked or unmarked Ford Crown Victorias and if you get pulled over more than likely you’ll get a ticket. So don’t be “cheating” or “running with traffic” here…….
S Penn Ave & S Indiana Ave
There’s a bowling alley and a pizza parlor at this intersection, and Sellersburg’s finest have been known to hide behind the bowling alley in order to catch speeders. The speed limit is 40 here, and the police in this town will not hesitate to pull over someone. I left the club next to the bowling alley late one Saturday night, and just north of the alley sat a marked Ford Crown Victoria in the dark. Watch your speed on this road, for the . Also: MAKE SURE YOU WEAR YOUR SEAT BELTS, or it’s a $25 fine, and SEAT BELT USE IS ENFORCED. It’s a $160 fine for speeding, so be careful and don’t cheat.
I- 65 & State Rd 311
This section of I-65 is probably one of the most patrolled areas in the state. Between the Kennedy Bridge and Mile Marker 9, the speed limit is 55. The State Police work this section pretty good, especially since it’s 70 just north of the exit. I sure wouldn’t be cheating on this road; they could be driving anything from an Unmarked Crown Victoria or Taurus to even motorcycles. More than likely, if you get pulled over, you’ll get a big ticket.
Interstate 65 near Mile Marker 10
Speed limit drops from 70 to 55 near mile marker 10.. They are serious about it… you always see 3 or 4 pulled over between there and the State Line.
