Coming down the hill from the south to the north they sit in the church parking lot and get lots of revenue. They can be very hard to see and I know they get them both ways.

E Avenue near Edgewood Road

Cedar Rapids, IowaFeb 18, 20080 Comments

Police often sit in the driveway, way back beside the fenced in electrical power site, (it’s on the right hand side if you are coming from the west, going toward the east. They are partially hidden to the traffic coming upon them from the west, (coming from Edgewood Rd.). They are not hidden from the traffic coming from the east on E Ave., but you don’t see them or know they are there, until it’s too late, usually. They usually allow at least 5 or 6 miles over the limit.

State Highway 380 Northbound near Wilson Ave overpass

Cedar Rapids, IowaSep 25, 20070 Comments

They like to sit under the Wilson Ave bridge as it covers 380. They like to sit there in the AM or PM. Will usually be multiple units involved. I’ve gone 7-9 over and not been pulled over consistantly.

15th Street near the bridge over the tracks near the old Surplus Store.

Coming over the bridge from the SW side of town to the lights at 15th St and 6th ave. The speed limit changes from 35 to 30 as you cross the bridge. The CRPD will sit in the exterminators lot (The one with the big ant on the sign) and tag anyone coming down the slope of the bridge.
