Clinton, Iowa Speed Traps
This is from Annamosa Rd to the Milcreek Parkway intersection and has become heavier on weekends. The speed goes from 65 to 55 to 45 within about a mile or so. There is usually 1 city police and 1 highway patrol…both directions.
Sits at the corner of Concord and 14th Street. Out of site for any vehicles traveling both ways on 14th Street.
This road is posted 45 mph. It is a outlining road within the corprate limits but away from city so most drive 55 or 60. The unit typically sits in one of three locations along a one mile strip between Harts Mill Road and 2nd Ave South. These locations are corn field access driveways that slope down away from the road. These can be clearly seen on google earth. They like to slip down just far enough to have the shoulder "cover" there profile but just enough to see you coming around the corner uphill from the north or cresting the top of the hill from the south. Local police and State Police have been seen on this road. Mostly in the mornings, but sometimes at night as well.
Clinton has some vehicles with radar/laser. One will take position on camanche ave between 11th ave s and 25th place with radar. 1 or 2 other vehicles will wait a block or 2 away from radar/lazer vehicle. I have seen up to 4 vehicles! 1 radar and 3 to write the ticket. Commonly around 8 to 10am.
Officer will park in buisness lot just south of Glenwood Pl. with radar commonly facing north. Easy to get busted here because of visibility. You won’t see him until its too late.
