Basehor, Kansas Speed Traps

Heading north on 155th. past LV Road where the speed limit changes from 30 to 50. Did You Know… you can Not begin to accelerate until you’ve reached the 50mph sign? My ticket was for going 40 in a 30 but I was close enough to the 50mph I could have spit on it. The cop told me that I could not begin to speed up until I reached the sign. I asked him does that also apply going the other way?? I don’t have to slow down coming into town until I reach the 30mph sign?? He told me I would be issued a ticket either way and that was "splitting hairs."

The city streets are very rural in nature and quickly drop from 45 to 20 mph. Strict enforcement of the 20 mph limit. According to locals it is well known for officers to tag 5 over limit.
