Lexington, Kentucky Speed Traps
Southpoint Drive near Clearwater Way
This trap tends to occur right next to Veterans Park, especially when any sort of baseball/soccer/etc. event is going on. The cops tend to use UNMARKED FORD EXPLORERS so that they just appear to be another soccer mom with an SUV waiting for her kid to finish practice, just like the rest of the cars there.
Shaker Drive near Bob O Link Drive
Saint Joseph Public Safety patrol this small stretch of property like it is a major interstate. They mainly issue citations for speeding and running the 4 way stop signs. There’s a tan Ford Ranger truck which is unmarked as well as a silver unmarked Chevy Impala. The driver of the Impala usually sits WAY back in the cul de sac and clocks you from a distance once you pass, then he comes after you.
Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 99.2
The end of the wall at the 99.2 yard stick is a favored hiding spot for Lexington Metro Police. Usually, in a plain white if not more than one, posted speed is 65, many people easily do 80 without thinking.
Richmond Road near Man O War Avenue
Going outbound from Man O War from Richmond Road towards I75, there is a hill that kinda dips and off to the right is a nice little pull off that unmarked cruisers like to sit at. I have been gotten before. i think the speed limit is 55 and i was clocke at I think 64 and got ticketed.
Versailles Road and New Circle
Traveling towards Lexington on Versailles Road you’ll reach a hill just before New Circle Road. The speed limit at the top of the hill changes to 45mph (even though the other side of the road is 55mph). Officers will sit in the shoulder on the right and run radar. I have seen up to five police cars there with some officers out of their cars running radar and those in the cars pulling people over. I feel this is an unfair location for a speed limit change.
