Ball, Louisiana Speed Traps

throughout this small town the speed limit switches back & forth from 45 to 55 repeatedly on US 165 for no valid reason other than to entrap motorist. This small towns “Revenuers” hide off the road to take advantage of these setups & fill their coffers as they have a “Mayors court” where a person is convicted before they arrive & have NO opportunity at receiving a fair trial.

Speeds drop frequently & especially going through the school zone on 165. It’s a 4 lane hwy. so most folks travel at 60 to 65 mph or more on the entire stretch of hwy.

Ball Police will sit in the center median, especially at night, so they are hard to see, they drive dark blue cars, so at night when they don’t have any lights on, they are practically invisible, and will write you a ticket for as little as 1 or 2 miles over posted speed limit

During Hurricane Rita’s evacuation other towns turned their traffic lights to blinking to allow traffic to flow freely, Ball set up an extensive speed trap. In Ball, La. the speed limit goes from 55 to 45 to 35 then a school zone all with in a mile distance. If you go one mile over the limit you will get a ticket. This goes on non stop during all hours of the day and night.
