Brusly is one of the worst speed traps in this State if not in the country. For some reason it has slipped under the radar screen for a long time. Brusly is a town of about 1,500. LA Highway 1 runs through the middle of the town for about a stretch of 1.5 miles. Speed limit changes from 55 to 45 and they sit there right at the change ready to write a ticket to anyone doing 51+. Could not tell you an exact number, but it is obvios a large part of the town’s revenue is generated by traffic tickets and there is no shortage of over zealous cops waiting for you to make the smallest mistake. Be sure to watch out for the inspection sticker check points as well.

Going down Hwy 1, you will go through the 3 red-light town of Brusly where the speed limit is 45, and they love to write tickets and impound vehicles if you don’t have proof of insurance.
