Louisiana state troopers patrol the entire 40 mile section of Highway 28 from Alexandria to Leesville, LA. There may be 1 trooper or there may be as many as 5 troopers in ten miles. Some four lane, some two lane. Speed limit should be 65 all the way but in the two lane sections it is 55 mph. Local parishes thrive on the speeding fines.

Deputies and State troopers love this area. they find a good spot and take a nap and set their radar to instant on detect. It will sound a warning when a speeder passes a set limit. Most radars are Genesis Decatur or Hawk in Ka band. Hard to detect when on this deserted road late at nite.
